Trail Mix Cacao Nibs

There are so many different combinations for a trail mix and I especially love the addition of cacao nibs. Cacao Nibs are one of the best dietary sources of magnesium as well as a good source of calcium, iron, copper, zinc and potassium? They are also a good energy boost and mood enhancer and taste great. Research also informs us that there are many health benefits to eating nuts and seeds regularly. They are an excellent source of protein, vitamins and minerals with each nut and seed offering their own nutritional benefits. I always have a trail mix prepared so I can grab handful for a quick healthy snack.

Trail Mix with Cacao Nibs

Ingredients:

1/2 cup activated walnuts

1/4 cup goji berries

1/2 cup activated almonds

1/4 cup cacao nibs

1/2 cup pepitas (pumpkin seeds)

Method:

Mix all ingredients together and store in an airtight container. I use a serving of 1/2 cup of trail mix and add 1 T of fresh blueberries after dinner sometimes also with a cup of herbal tea.  Such a delicious and healthy snack!
