Pineapple Chia Chai Smoothie is a great morning smoothie with the added goodness of chia seeds.
Chia seeds are an excellent source of plant based protein and delicious in my Pineapple Chia Chai Smoothie. Chia seeds are a complete protein, with all nine essential amino acids, extremely high in calcium and provide sustainable energy. Full of antioxidants and a source of good fat. They are a healthy addition to smoothies, salads and muffins. You can add chia seeds to just about anything! The only limit to using chia seeds with food is your imagination.
1 T chia seeds
hulk thumb size piece ginger
1 T hemp seeds
4 frozen pieces of pineapple (or fresh)
handful of spinach
1 small cucumber
6 beetroot leaves
1/2 tsp each of cardamon, cinnamon, nutmeg & cloves
Blend all ingredients together until smooth!! Sprinkle top with some extra chia seeds for an additional boost!

*Tip: To ensure that you get a smooth textured smoothie, it is recommended to blend your greens (i.e. spinach, beetroot leaves &) with the liquid first, then add the remaining ingredients.
